For the exhibition at the Jeroen Bosch Hospital (April to June 2023) there will be some information about my “inspirations’.
Impossible, I thought… After all, outside I am always ‘alert’. Anything can be interesting; from structures in nature to weathered plastics…. Fortunately, in the exhibition at the hospital, I limit myself to Paper and Tapeworks.

These are all made up of small ‘building blocks’ of masking tape. Attaching them together creates “air chambers or cells,” which turns into “modules” that together grow into their own “organism”. Just like nature and life itself.

It is the tape that showed me this way. Once I realized I was making ‘organisms’ with ‘building blocks’, the interest in the actual building blocks of nature and life came. Endlessly I surfed for cells, seeds, fungi, mosses, etc.
They inspire me by their appearances and splashes of color.
Nothing so breathtaking as nature and life itself!

Voor de tentoonstelling in het Jeroen Bosch Ziekenhuis (april tem juni 2023) komt er een A3 poster over mijn ‘inspiratiebronnen’.
Niet aan te beginnen, denk in meteen. Buiten sta ik namelijk altijd ‘aan’. Alles kan interessant zijn; van structuren in de natuur tot aangewaaid en verweerd plastic. Gelukkig beperk ik me in de tentoonstelling in het ziekenhuis tot mijn Paper-en Tapeworks.

Die zijn allemaal opgebouwd uit kleine bouwstenen van schilderstape. Door ze aan elkaar te bevestigen ontstaan ‘luchtkamers of cellen’, die op hun beurt  ‘modules’ vormen die samen weer uitgroeien tot een eigen ‘organisme’. Net als de natuur en het leven zelf. 

Het is de tape die me deze weg heeft gewezen. Toen ik me eenmaal realiseerde dat ik met bouwstenen ‘organismes’ aan het maken was, kwam de interesse naar de werkelijke bouwstenen van de natuur en het leven. Eindeloos heb ik gesurft op cellen, zaden, schimmels, mossen etc.
Ze inspireren me door hun verschijningsvormen en kleurenpracht.
Niets zo adembenemend als de natuur en het leven zelf!
