Ecdysis is the process of a reptile shedding its skin is called shedding or, in scientific terms, ecdysis. During this process, the reptile removes its old skin to make way for new growth.

This work is part of 'Bodies', in wich I aim to connect the human body with aspects of nature. 

Here I attempt to drape a membrane made from a giant scoby around body parts—first my own, later using a mannequin due to the slow drying time.

Ecdysis is het proces waarbij het reptiel zijn oude huid verwijdert om plaats te maken voor een nieuwe, zodat het kan groeien.

Het project wordt onderdeel van de serie 'Bodies' waarin ik probeer het menselijke lichaam te connecten met aspecten uit de natuur. 

In dit werk probeer ik met een gigantische scobi een vlies te draperen rond lichaamsdelen. Eerst met mijn eigen lichaamsdelen, later met een paspop vanwege de trage droogtijd.
